A Reading from Homer, Interrupted

Shaughnessy restoration, vandal damage

We first saw this beautiful window 6 years ago when we were asked to completely restore and restructure it. At that time, it was constructed in one piece and was folding under its own weight. Luckily, we got to it before much of the glass was damaged and we were able to bring it to its full potential. Sadly, when we saw it again recently, as pictured here, it had suffered some pretty bad vandal damage to the bottom section. This time we are going to need to create a new area to match the rest of the window; we will be testing glass painting techniques to find the closest match possible to the original artist’s style – what we term forensic glass painting! All good fun….
