Culinary Inspiration, Vancouver, BC

This two-light window was designed for Paradigm Kitchens to accent their newest display.

Project Overview:

To give a kitchen a quite unique and contemporary feel, whilst using traditional materials.

Concept to Completion:

Good design was the key to giving this commission impetus. With careful selection of glass that allowed us to utilise the required techniques and achieve the desired impact. The structure and importantly blend of colour were influenced by the way we view well presented food at a good restaurant. An artform in itself.

Maybe it was the gastronomic theme or hot colours, but this abstract really seemed to light a passion in those that viewed this piece whilst visiting our studio.

Private residence, Kitsilano, Vancouver.

We throughly enjoyed producing this abstract piece, which was designed to compliment a stylish dining room.

To be given free rein to apply acid etching and painted tones to such beautiful glass such as Hartley Woods, Lamberts, St. Just, and Polish mouth blown really was a very enjoyable exercise.

By a “happy accident” when the window was turned vertically, both us and the client thought it resembled a Henry Moore sculpture.
