McKenzie Crest, Vancouver, BC
Project Overview:
Heraldic crests are always an interesting commission; particularly as in this case it is intended to be a family heirloom.
Concept to Completion:
Heraldry tends to cover a lot of stained glass techniques. This piece required acid etching (using glass which has a thin “flash” of colour over a clear base) to enable the stag head to be depicted within the blue shield, strong painted line work and tonal values, as well as silver staining to enable a pure yellow where required.
