We unveiled this piece at the Luxury Home & Design Show 2018, entitled “Renaissance” and created specifically for that exhibition.  Inspired by the art of the Renaissance period, in particular Michelangelo’s sketch entitled The Tree of Life for the paving of Rome’s Piazza del Campidoglio, this expressive piece reflects a time of curiosity about the natural world and a fascination with geometry, astronomy and symbolism. We used intricate glass painting and etching techniques on European mouth-blown glass to create highly detailed flowers, leaves, bees and butterflies, all of which have further symbolic meaning and which together are reflective of the best qualities of humanity.
